Discovery Ridge Home Office

This home office was the first thing people saw upon entering this beautiful home. The homeowner felt that mismatched furniture and aesthetic didn’t do the rest of the house justice. There were a few elements of live edge wood in the entry and main living space, so we started with this theme on the desktop. Not wanting a bulky, ‘box store’ desk, but working with a limited budget, I suggested my carpenter ‘feather’ in 2 Reno tabletops from Structube. We sourced additional hairpin legs from a Canadian company and used the cut-offs from the desk to create floating shelves with black metal brackets.

It was important that this space was family friendly with a space for everyone. The two stools gave the kids a place to craft and colour while a parent was on the computer. The bench seat created a cozy spot to read, with a ton of storage for both office materials and crafts. Tucked around the corner, out of sight, is a file cabinet to match the desk drawer base.
