West Hillhurst Duplex

This duplex had many great features, but lacked functional space even a small family of 3 needs on a daily basis. We completely redesigned the back area by removing a redundant fireplace, to create a desired mudroom in what was a cramped back entry and tiny breakfast nook. This lovely family already had a spacious living/dining space and fully renovated basement, so taking away a small sitting area in the back to give them a large statement island and more storage in their kitchen was well worth it to them!

Updating this kitchen resulted in a much brighter, fresh space for entertaining. The rustic barn door into the mudroom was the icing on the cake! The designer floor tile and geometric backsplash made this homeowner so happy. They are on the lookout for the perfect cabinet and rug to finish the look off the kitchen.
